Restyling logotype Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche
Metodo Studio was entrusted with the restyling of the logo of the Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche, created in 1987 by the architect Domenico Luciani who based it on basrelief of the dancing Menade, a Roman artefact placed on the outer wall of the bell tower of the Cathedral of Treviso. The research and analysis of the Menade revealed how, over time, the various reproductions of the symbol had distorted the original image.
After redesigning the symbol of the dancing Menade, Metodo Studio identified an easily legible corporate typeface that could best match the design. Like the revised Menade, the new typeface is a combination of classic and contemporary styles, drawing inspiration from French Renaissance characters. The new logo manages to combine the Foundation’s established identity with its focus on contemporary trends, representing its diversity.
