We created the visual identity of the Museum of Palazzo Santo Stefano in Padua: an important architectural restoration project, in the historic seat of the Province and Prefecture, which offers citizens the chance to visit an underground gas and air raid shelter dating to the 1940s.
The brand design we created is a composite of the building and its architectural elements. In addition to the coordinated identity, we also designed the entire museum layout: the panels and showcases borrow the colours and characters of the brand, with a clear description of the shelters and life inside them. Moreover, we supervised the art direction of a series of videos, fundamental tools in the museum’s educational outreach activities, created thanks to the testimonies of those who lived through WWI and WWII in Padua and of those who found refuge in these places, as well as a collection of interviews with the curators and the various institutional stakeholders involved in the creation of the museum. The graphic design extends to the exterior with specific communication and direction signs.
